Mississippi Valley Conservancy Priority Areas

The Mississippi Valley Conservancy is committed to conserving the diverse landscapes and natural areas of the Coulee Region of western Wisconsin. To ensure the most effective use of our conservation dollars, we have identified Priority Areas that are in immediate need of conservation action, or that will benefit from additional protection efforts.  They are:

Bad Axe River
Black River
Coon Creek
Kickapoo River
La Crosse River
Mississippi River
Rush & Sugar Creeks
Snow Bottoms
Trempealeau River
Wisconsin River

The Conservancy will continue to provide services to individuals interested in protecting their property. By identifying Protection Areas, we have broadened the scope of our conservation efforts and created a blueprint to guide protection of the "biological gems" that define the character and beauty of western Wisconsin.
