Birds of the Kickapoo – Birding and Habitat Workshop

Valley Stewardship Network, in partnership with Kickapoo Valley Reserve and Mississippi Valley Conservancy, invite you to join them for a morning of celebrating bird diversity in the Kickapoo Valley.

This workshop begins with an early bird hike with expert guides and then moves into the Kickapoo Valley Reserve Visitor Center for bird conservation and habitat presentation and resources. Participants will learn about the State of Birds in our area, the Wisconsin Breeding Bird Atlas and e-Bird, habitat enhancement and protection, and receive an introduction to birding. Landowners can learn how to be a partner in bird conservation on their own land! The event will then move back outside for beginner and advanced birding hikes with Barbara Duerksen, Paul Hayes, Craig Thompson, Ben Johnston and more! Sack lunch discussions will follow hikes.

Free refreshments will be provided, but please bring a sack lunch.

Join us at the peak of migration for this big morning of bird conservation!

HOW TO REGISTER:

WHAT TO WEAR OR BRING:
Wear walking shoes or boots and dress in layers appropriate for spring weather. Be sure to bring water, sack lunch, and your binoculars, and if you choose, a camera.
