Birds of New Amsterdam Grasslands

May 22, 2021
8:00 a.m.–10:30 a.m.
Location
New Amsterdam Grasslands

Join us for a morning bird walk in the open portion of New Amsterdam Grasslands to learn what's being done to protect the grassland birds on the property. We especially encourage neighbors of the nature preserve to attend.

Complimentary coffee and doughnuts will be served.

Since 1970, North America has lost almost 3 billion birds, including more than half of our grassland birds. The New Amsterdam Grasslands nature preserve plays an important role in the conservation of North America’s increasingly rare grassland birds.

Our former board president, Rob Tyser, will lead the walk and share the results of his research on birds at the property in recent years. Masks will be required. Bring binoculars and bird field guides if you have them.

ADVANCE REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED for this free guided hike.

Registration for this event is now closed.
